Painting on stones:
Master class, ideas and decoration techniques for the interior.
Stones in the garden are so familiar that we often do not perceive them as the
basis for decorations. But a little paint, a little effort, and stone can become
an amazing home decor.
How to draw from scratch?
This was exactly the task that the art teacher Liena Bizune faced, who prepared
the material for our foreign partners.
The technique as art therapy is an excellent way of perceiving art, the ability
to convey your emotions and harmonize the world around a person.
Children begin to realize this, and stones-paintings appear in their hands,
which are very harmoniously woven into the interior of a school or house.
Where can I get stones to make jewelry?
You can turn any stone that you find on the banks of a river or lake into a
painting. Of course, it is desirable that its surface be as even as possible,
otherwise the drawing will be difficult to apply, and the image, due to the
unevenness of the "canvas", will be albeit slightly deformed.
But all novice "stone artists" use what is at hand. Then, when the creation of
stone decorations for the garden is fascinating, you can purchase decorative
stones in hardware stores: you can buy very inexpensively a stone of the right
size, shape, breed, etc.
How to paint a stone: master class step by step:
1. We wash well - we clean the stone using a brush and a solution with detergent.
2. Thoroughly rinse, dry in the sun.
3. Apply a stone primer to the surface. Sometimes the packaging may additionally
indicate under what paint such a primer is used. If not specified, it means that
the tool is universal.
4. It is better to use acrylic paints - they are bright, durable and fit well
literally on any surface.
5. We paint the stone with a background layer (base) so that a picture can be
applied to it. Sometimes there is no need for a base layer (if the texture of
the stone is beautiful) - then the drawing is applied immediately after priming.
6. You can prime only a piece of the surface on which the paint will be, and
leave the rest as it is. This is even preferable, as some primers can make the
stone surface a little cloudy.
7. When the base coat is dry, draw on it with a pencil or marker.
8. If you don't really believe in your artistic abilities, you can redraw a
picture from a book, or even transfer it to stone using special paper. The
result is a stone canvas that looks like a page in a children's coloring book.
9. Color the picture with thin and medium brushes (natural or synthetic).
10. We are waiting for our creation to dry.
11. You can cover it with stone varnish - the decoration for the garden will be
brighter, a beautiful shine will appear, but most importantly, it will be more
reliably protected from rain and sun.
During work, we recommend using gloves, oilcloth, water.
For relaxation, it is worth turning on lyrical music without words, sounds of
the forest, birdsong, waves, etc.
The group should not have many members, so that the master can help everyone.
After the lesson, it is imperative to organize an exhibition of works, the
participants can talk about the plot, about their emotional state.
After some time, the work should be presented to the participants, you can issue
a quality certificate, which will give the work great significance. This type of
promotion is appropriate only after the premiere.
